Thesis Proposal

Research Blog Post

My premise animation project research closely connects to my Thesis topic of discussion. The deliberation within the two are comparable and cross over in all areas. I will be using my Premise Project film experiments as one source of primary research. This will aid in my data collection, and compare to the secondary research that my interviewees will review.

Below are the links to my Premise Project secondary research and primary research blog post:

Thesis Key Words/ Idea Generation:

  • Staging scene/ manipulation of perspective.
  • Interpretation of characters emotions through suggestive psychology.
  • Audience reception and interpretation based on individual.
  • Action/ Reaction.
  • Editing design for purpose.
  • Off-screen dialogue and presence.
  • Character’s personality transcribed through performance.
  • Timing.
  • Perception/ angle.
  • Control and manipulation.

Staging a scene that has a character reacting to a narrative outside of the screen. This gives the audience the illusion that there is more happening outside of the screen that the character reacts to/ impacts the character. Representation of the character??

What are the essential elements that make this work? Acting, animation, character/personality. ways the personality would react.

How can it fail? bad acting, bad reactions. bad timing of acting and animations. unrealistic acting/ reaction.
